Genital Hercules’ final shows

I’m sorry to report to you that Genital Hercules will be doing two more shows–Iowa City on May 29th, and Quenchers on June 23rd–and then breaking up. I have had a (mostly) great time keeping this band going over the past eight years, but as our current bassist is moving away at the end of June, I feel like now is the time to end things on a high note. I would like to express my sincerest appreciation to the eleven (I think) other people who have been members of Genital Hercules over the years.

BUT don’t despair, because we’re not done just yet! We will be at Gabe’s in Iowa City this Saturday, returning to where it all started. We’re older and wiser, plus we have lots of great new songs. Doors open at 9:30 p.m., and we’re on first, so be there early! After that, we’ll be at Quencher’s in Chicago for our final show on June 23rd. Again, we’re going on first, so be there early or regret it forever!

AND if that wasn’t enough, we’ve still got one more album in the works, which I am tentatively calling Zero Gravitas. I hope to start recording it soon after finishing up our live work this summer. In my opinion, it’s got the potential to be our strongest effort yet, and I’ll be giving it away for free online once it’s done!
